Tips & Tricks

To avoid unwanted scaling/sizing issues between Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server:

  • Create dashboards (twb) files in 1920 x 1080 resolution. Creating dashboards in higher res and then uploading to the server may cause problems.
  • Do most of the dashboard development in Desktop, then publish to the server site and do fine-tuned editing there.

Tableau Data Management Add-on

The Tableau Data Management add-on allows for automated scheduling of Prep flows on the Server. Once scheduled, the flows will populate without the need for a manual refresh from the author’s desktop.
